The Brodowski Quartet
Violins: David Brodowski and Catrin Win Morgan
Viola: Felix Tanner
Cello: Vanessa Lucas-Smith
The Brodowski Quartet, founded in 2005, is fast emerging as one of the UK?s most exciting young string quartets. Based in London the Quartet are extremely fortunate to regularly study with musicians from the renowned quartets of the Amadeus, Alberni, Endellion, Maggini and Takacs Quartets. From 06-07 they studied with the Belcea Quartet generously supported by the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. They are the current recipients of the Bulldog String Quartet Scholarship from Trinity College of Music. Their role sees them regularly working with students - coaching ensembles, working with the composition department and delivering their innovative, cross-departmental project ? The Schubertiade project.
Since formation they have enjoyed performing throughout Europe; in some of the foremost venues in the UK (such as The Queen Elizabeth Hall and The Barbican Hall), for music societies and clubs throughout the UK and have undertaken three tours of Europe (including performing at the 2005 Kronberg Music Festival) and a residency in Anghiari, Italy.
In June 2007 they were the winners of the Val Tidone (Italy) International Chamber Music Competition and in April 2007 were prize-winners in the Charles Hennen Concours - their first participation in an international chamber music competition with the final broadcasted live on Radio 4 Netherlands. As result of this competition they were invited to participate in the 2007 Orlando Festival, Netherlands.
They have recently been selected as artists for the Park Lane Group Young Artists Concerts where they will give their Purcell Room, Southbank Centre (London) debut in January 2008. In September 2007 they were named ?Associate Artists? of The Anvil Concert Hall.
