  • Hi Danyal, Oddly enough (perhaps?) my favourite recording of Dumbarton Oaks has Gunter Wand being very kappelmeisterish - slightly Bach from left-field. A friend but not, quite, as we know him. Apart from that piece of not-very-usefulness, you'll get better tips from a famous tea brand. All the best, David.

Bio

I live in Clapham, south London, having graduated from Cambridge with a BA in music last year.
I play violin and viola in various orchestras, chamber groups and bands around london. I also teach the violin, and have recorded and arranged string parts for several songwriters and electronic composers - hoping to do more of that in future. Also compose contemp. classical music, having studied with Robin Holloway - collaborated with Ed Nesbit and Kim Ashton on 'Three Portraits of Nero', a cycle of short operas that was performed in Cambridge, and wrote a piece which was played by the Britten Sinfonia in their composers' workshop last year. Both on my website (see below). Currently working on a few new operas and an orchestral piece for the Kensington Chamber Orchestra. I do a bit of conducting as well - trying to learn Stravinsky's Dumbarton Oaks at the moment.
