It is my belief that music should be a natural extention of the instrument. Musical Improvisation has been a key source to some of my musical experiments in the medium. In the idioms of classical and modern music, the elements of jazz an a natural inclination of the musician to play their instrument. Classical: Gregorian Chants-Early Bohemian Music, John Fields, Franz Liszt, Fredrich Chopin, Alexander Scriabin, Dmitry Kabalevsky, D. Shostokovitch, Rodion Schedrin etc
International: Eastern European Music/Traditional/East Asian Music/Music of the East Indies, Tibetan Music
Richard Ozanne a international oscar winning (Oscar Della Arte 2006, Torino Italy) visual artist and pianist began to study piano at a very young age. As a child he was emersed in the world of classical music partially because of his parents Ozan Marsh and Patricia Benkman who were exponents of some of the greatest known pianists of the 19th and 20th centuries (Google-Ozan Marsh/Patricia Benkman).
As an addition to his art he has pursued interests in music as a pianist utilizing state-of-the art technology for his creations as well as the traditional instrument. In 1978 he entered the University of Arizona towards a degree in music which was overshadowed by his love of visual art. He graduated in 1982 with a BFA (In the visual arts)at the University of Arizona, later his MFA at Arizona State Universtiy after 4 years of intensive study in New York City as well as completion of his doctorate in Europe. As a keyboardist Richard Ozanne has made private recordings of classical works as well as numerous compositions in conventional, experimental genres as well as improvisations for synthesized/electronic music and traditional piano. (These are Private Issue...and Rare to Commercial Use-although registered) How many have I done? It seems an endless the numbers of "true masters" I am holding. If push comes to shove...the musical recording masters that I hold are in the hundreds of digital, taped...and live recordings-from not only myself as a pianist but of other outstanding keyboard artists such as my father Ozan Marsh,(mother)Patricia Benkman, as well as others too.
To say I sleep on Sergi Rachmaninoffs signature as well a Joseph Hoffmans would not be a sarchasm.
During his life Richard Ozanne has appeared in venues across the United States and in Europe...his last concert at the Mappano Mappanese Festival in Torino during a two year residency in Italy.
Richard Ozanne is associated with several international organizations that support the purpose of the arts and international culture. Ozannes' work is listed under the Screenwriters Guild of North America and association with BMI, and other organizations.

Richard Ozanne plays privately and periodicly in concert. He has played across the country, in Europe and Asia.
Some of his favorite composers are:
John Fields,Hummel, Franz Liszt, Fredrich Chopin, Sergi Rachmaninoff, Alexander Scriabin, Bela Bartok ,Samuel Barber, Rodion Schedrin and many others.
In these days of recorded music, and seemingly "perfect" acoustics and technology...we by and large (public) seem to have an idea that this is the end-all of all.
I am finding that the times have presented problems for my continued development of my ideas.
